La Source has always encouraged its students and staff to take part in international activities, both in Switzerland and abroad.

Embracing other cultures is a tradition at La Source. Since 1859, the School has been training nurses who practise all over the world. Academic and clinical partnerships with renowned institutions reinforce its openness to other cultures, different approaches to care and diverse healthcare systems.

Every year, La Source organises the blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in partnership with several overseas partner institutions.

What are the objectives of mobility projects?

Leaving Switzerland to gain experience abroad offers several advantages, including:

  • Enriching your professional and personal experience by discovering different healthcare systems and cultures

  • Developing intercultural and language skills

  • Learning new healthcare practices

The International Affairs Department coordinates all procedures relating to mobility and establishes agreements with educational or healthcare institutions abroad. It offers and advice to those interested in planning a project abroad.

La Source helps to promote the canton of Vaud

By welcoming students from schools and universities around the world, La Source contributes to the international reputation of Lausanne, the canton of Vaud and, more broadly, French-speaking Switzerland. Health knows no borders, which is why the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO) and the Directorate-General for Higher Education of the Canton of Vaud (DGES) support a range of varied and innovative projects, aimed at training competent nurses in an international and intercultural environment.
