Library

The lending service is available not only to students, teaching staff and staff at La Source, but also to members of the public. External users may borrow materials using their Renouvaud/Bibliopass card or can register free of charge with CEDOC via the pre-registration form. A valid form of ID must be presented to confirm your registration.

Each reader may borrow up to 30 items from the Renouvaud network.

The loan period is 28 days (or 7 days for items available on short-term loan ).

Journals may only be consulted on-site. However, individual articles may be photocopied or where available, downloaded in full from the electronic version.

Please do take the time to read these rules before borrowing any items.

Items can be renewed provided they have not been reserved by another user. The maximum loan period is four times the initial loan duration, i.e. 112 days.

An item on loan to another user can be reserved either via the Renouvaud catalogue by logging into your library account, or by making a request at the CEDOC reception desk. If an item is available on the shelves, please visit the library directly to borrow it.

Where possible, items should be returned in person during opening hours. A return box is provided outside CEDOC when it is closed. Books borrowed from other libraries cannot be returned to CEDOC, nor can items borrowed from CEDOC be returned to other libraries.

Once the loan due date has passed, a fine of 20 centimes per item per day per item is charged. Once fines totalling CHF 20 have been incurred, the user’s library account is blocked, preventing further borrowing from any library in the network

A formal notice is issued with the fourth reminder, giving the user a final seven-day deadline to return the items.

The replacement cost of the item, plus an administrative fee of CHF 20, will be charged. Please complete a loss item or damaged item report form.

If an item available from another Swiss library is not held by CEDOC, students and staff at La Source may submit an inter-library loan request.

We recommend that users from outside the School contact their local cantonal library.

Librairies outside the Renouvaud network are asked to provide one IFLA voucher per item supplied (An IFLA voucher is used within the international system for interlibrary loans and document delivery).

You can suggest a new title, a new edition of an item already held by CEDOC, or the purchase of an additional copy.
