What types of continuing professional development courses are on offer?

Continuing professional development at La Source is available in five complementary formats, designed to support professional development throughout your career:

  1. DAS (Diploma of Advanced Studies)

In-depth, structured programmes designed to develop expert, innovative and evidence-based practice, positioning participants as key players and leaders.

  2. CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies)

Targeted certificate programmes designed to strengthen key skills and establish you as a specialist in a particular field.

  3. Modules

Flexible courses that can be taken independently or integrated into a broader programme. The credits earned may subsequently be recognised towards a CAS or a DAS, giving you the flexibility to progress through your studies at your own pace.

  4. Microcertifications in frontline management

Short courses lasting 2 to 3 days, certified by ECTS credits, these micro-certifications are primarily aimed at line managers (unit heads) in the healthcare sector and focus on management challenges. They are offered in partnership with the School of Engineering and Management Vaud (HEIG-VD).

  5. Short courses

One-off courses designed to update knowledge or address specific needs.

Together, these formats constitute a comprehensive programme, tailored to address the realities faced by healthcare and social care professionals.

Candidates who have been admitted or are in the process of being admitted to a postgraduate programme may apply to have prior learning or experience.
