What is the Foundation Year in Healthcare?
This preparatory year enables you to:
Acquire basic knowledge in the field of healthcare
Discover the social and healthcare sector
Confirm your career path
To prepare for entry onto a Bachelor’s degree in one of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO) health programmes (nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical radiotherapy technician (TRM), osteopathy or nutrition and dietetics)

Through the student's association (ADES), you can take part in sporting, cultural and social activities, make friends and make the most of student life.
Mentoring group
Throughout the year, Bachelor’s students are on hand to support you as required. They will answer your questions, advise you on preparing for your exams and help make your student life easier.

La Source offers affordable student accommodation, either close to the University or easily accessible by public transport. A practical solution that allows you to focus on your studies and make the most of student life.
La Source adapts to your profile
Depending on your previous studies or professional experience, you may be eligible for certain exemptions during the Foundation Year in Healthcare (APS). There are two options available, which can be combined:
The ALTER programme
Benefit from a personalised programme tailored to your resources and circumstances, with a streamlined programme suited to your profile.
The module equivalence scheme
If you have already demonstrated that you have mastered the content of a module through prior learning or experience, you may be eligible for an equivalence. This will reduce the workload of your Foundation Year in Healthcare.
